McKettrick’s Pride - Linda Lael Miller1

Linda Lael Miller

The second in the contemporary Mettrick brothers series following McKettrick’s Luck. Rance is a widower and father of two young daughters. He lost his wife five years ago but still harbors a lot of guilt and pain. He is seldom in town as he chooses to work away his troubles and spends a lot of time on business trips. His girls are being partially raised by his ex mother in law Cora Tellington. Though Cora loves her granddaughters deeply she wants to take back her own life and travel. She comes up with the idea to buy a “love charm” over the internet and places it under Rance’s truck seat. Little does she know what a small world this is.

The Dream-Hunter - Sherrilyn Kenyon3

Sherrilyn Kenyon

I want to start out by saying that I have every Kenyon on my keeper shelf and am always rushing out to get the next one. That said, I am going to place this copy of The Dream-Hunter on my shelf next to my Kenyon collection out of a collectors stubornness; but very sadly, I don’t think I can finish it. I have forced myself to read up to chapter 9 and I just cannot get into it. Normally receiving a new Kenyon was a sure sign that I was going to be pulling an all nighter, but when I first got this book a while ago, I had trouble reading it from the get go.

Lover Revealed - J.R. Ward4

Lover Revealed - J.R. Ward

I have been waiting for this for so long and highly enjoyed it, but it is probably my least favorite in the series. I wonder if the wait and expectation of greatness is a setup for disappointment.

I just love the brothers, all of them. They are truly masculine and just so yummy. In the previous books there was a buzz from those who felt the story was approaching into homosexuality. I did not get that vibe and even if I did I would be A ok with it. The reality built by Ward is still fresh and so great to follow. She has a great imagination.

How to Abduct a Highland Lord - Karen Hawkins1

How to abduct a highland lord - karen hawkins

I loved the premise of this book - a fiery highland lass whom decides to single-handedly end a long standing feud between her family (the McLeans) and the Kincaids by abducting and marrying a reluctant Kincaid male.

The premise was better than the book itself. I was able to quickly finish the book and did not really dislike it as much as I felt it didn’t deliver as much as it could. I was a bit disappointed.

Fiona MacLean had jilted Jack Kincaid when they young because of her meddling brothers and a slight misunderstanding. Jack went on to become a womanizing rake, earning his nickname Black Jake Kincaid.

Natural Born Charmer - Susan Elizabeth Phillips8

Natural Born Charmer - Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Is there anything worse than a gushing fan girl? I am hesitant to write this review because I loved this book and I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips and I hate embarrassing myself by babbling like a school girl, but here goes.

I loved this book and I have loved almost every book written by SEP. I just cannot figure out why someone who has put the same plot - (brooding, sexy bad boy football player meets mousey girl who he keeps around to entertain himself, does something stupid to prove to himself he is too good/sexy/whatever for her, loses her then realizes he loooovvveeesss her) can continue with such kick ass books. So I guess by saying this SEP was the same ole same ole is not a bad thing at all because it is why we (I) love her.
