A cute list on meeting Mr. Right. This is a short but witty piece with 781 short quips. A good book when you have a few minutes to spare. It took me about 20 minutes to read while waiting for my daughter after a volleyball game.
Some of these “chapters” hit home.
6. You’ll decided your mother has no idea what she’s talking about
a. Until you’re her age.
66. You” tell your girlfriend that you have a date with the handsome stranger Saturday night.
67. She’ll say six words to you that only a girlfriend would have the heart to say.
a. “What are you going to wear?”
68. You’ll have a one-word response.
a. “Shit.”

Cute, funny and quick. I enjoyed this new offering from Deirdre Martin. Sports romances are always fun because the egos of the athletic male are portrayed with a large dose of testostrone and no clue on how to deal with a woman (nice girl — that is).
There seems to be a trend in romances of starring BIG dogs. I love Newfoundland dogs and Stanley the Newfie is just so darn likeable.

This is undoubtedly the stupidest and most awful storyline filled with juvenilistic humor I have read recently. Yet it really works… Huh, image that. I will sadly admit that this book had me laughing out laugh — I love that in a book.
The second Barnaby novel in my opinion was better than the first, Metro Girl. We got to witness the return of Sam Hooker with a new St. Bernard buddy (Beans), along with Rosa and Felicia. New characters were introduced to round out the goofy cast – Suzanne the widow with a vendetta, thugs Horse (as in hung) and Baldy (as in hair challenged), Spanky the rival driver who keeps ending up with dead bodies in his vehicles and Ray the villain and brother-in-law to Suzanne.

I noticed Laurell K. Hamilton has her new book listed on Amazon today. For those of you who love to hate her. . . . .
TA - DA, another freaking 224 page hardback. Shame on her and Ballantine Books/Randomhouse. This trend towards expensive novellas really sucks. Inflation is one thing, greediness is another.

After reading the tastes great and is less filling Evanovich book Plum Lovin’, I was still hungry for some Evanovich so I pulled out Metro Girl out of my to be read pile. I had been putting off reading this because I hate being disappointed when an author carries her existing series into a new character. Sometimes they are too formulaic and just a recycle of the existing character.

If you have read the previous Between-the-Numbers Plum novel, Visions of Sugar Plums, you have met Diesel, another hottie in Stephanie’s world. Valentine’s Day is approaching and Stephanie finds herself thrust into the company of Diesel the hot “enhanced” human whom makes himself at home in Stephanie’s apartment. He needs her help to track down another enhanced being who has an itchy problem. In trade, Diesel knows the whereabouts of Annie Hart, a skip that has Vinnie in an uproar. Annie is an on the run “relations expert” who specializes in being a Cupid of sorts. Stephanie agrees to take on her caseload and help 4 couples find true love. Of course that is easier said than done, especially when taken on by a relationship disabled train wreck like Stephanie.

I had a personal shopping day available from Borders that was due to expire, so I stopped to see if I could find anything interesting. I am trying not to buy new books because my to be read pile is threating to take over my house, or should I say my husband is threating my to be read pile again.
So anyhow, I was walking through Borders and the cover of this book immediately grabbed my attention. In person, this cover is not so red and the hottie on the cover is almost holographic. The computer screen just does not do it justice. I had to take this bad boy home with me.
