Having previously read Tall Dark and Cajun, I didn’t realize that this book was connected until I started sounding very familiar in the characters of Tante LuLu and Tee John. I realize that this book was a Love Spell and the other Cajun books are Warner so maybe that is why the connection was not made inside the covers.

Lucien LeDuex (the older brother) has been told all his life that he was good for nothing by his father and scorned as a kid because he came from the wrong side of the tracks. As a teenager he had a thing for Sylvie Fontaine who was an uptown rich girl. Sylvie was extremely shy and rebuffed his attention. Being a typical young boy he made her life misrable by constantly teasing her.
