Warprize-Elizabeth Vaughan

I have not logged a book in ages because of my schedule. I would like to get back to journaling my books so I am going to work on brief reviews of what I have read.

I have just finished Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan. I have not read her before and cannot remember who recommended this book to me but I really loved it. I really enjoy “warlord alpha males” and spunky women who don’t put up with their crap.

Xylara is a healer and the daughter of a king. After her father dies her incompetent half brother Xymund is made king. He has always been jealous of her and wants her gone. Lara’s land is current under seige by Warlord Kien and Lara has been tending to the wounded warriors from both sides. She treats prisoners and grows to care for them. This relationship is noticed by Kien who decides to grant piece to they kingdom of Lara is given to him as the warprize. Xymund takes this opportunity to get rid of Lara and tortures her by telling her of the awful fate that awaits her.

I rank that as 4 stars and cannot wait for the next installment of the series called Warsworn. Due out in April of 2006 it is on my wishlist.

There is a large wishlist for this book at Paperbackswap, so it is going to the next one on the list.
