The Nerd Who Loved Me - Vicki Lewis Thompson0

I was in the mood for some comedy so I pulled this out of my ever increasing to be read pile. I was not disappointed, but did not find it too funny either. This would be a nice summer beach book.

Lainie is a single mom who is also a Las Vegas Showgirl. Harry is the boring accountant at the casino Lainie works at and finds himself smitten. It turns out that Harry’s mother is a retired showgirl and has decided that he wanted to find a nice normal wife. — Your standard romance book conflict.

Honest Illusions, Nora Roberts0

I have not read a Nora Roberts book in a few years. I got tired of the cookie cutter predictible stores that have been published recently so I gave her up entirely. While participating in a message forum recently I read about others who had the same opinion as me but many of the people talked about their favorite Roberts book, Honest Illusions. I had this book in my to be read pile so I figured I would try it out for the heck of it.

The Blue Viking, Sandra Hill0

Who would have known that the word “manpart” could be use so frequently and still be hilarious?

The is the fifth in a series of Viking Books by Sandra Hill and probably my favorite so far. I laughed out loud frequently at the antics of the main and secondary characters. A younger Rurik the Viking seduced Maire, a scottish, inept witch and unknown to him broke her heart. She may have had a broken heart and other troubles after the fling, but she left him marked with a jagged blue tatoo down the middle of his face (accidently of course).

To Tame A Wolf, Susan Krinard1

I just finished up with To Tame A Wolf, by Susan Krinard. Having enjoyed the previous book in this series, Once A Wolf, I was happy to get started with this one.

Sim Kavanagh was the bad/tortured half brother to the “bad guy” in Once a Wolf. From the previous story Sim starts out as the complete bad guy but meets up with the young Esperanza, who is able to see into the hearts of others. No matter how badly he treats Esperanza she is convinced that he is not evil. In the end of Once a Wolf, Sim does the right thing and then moves off into his own story here.

To Die For - Linda Howard0

Now available for trade.

I picked To Die for by Linda Howard to read next. She is one of my absolute favorite authors so I was looking forward to reading this newer story. I have to say I was highly disappointed and did not even finish it. Nor did i care to peek in the back and see who is trying to kill Blair.

Blair Mallory is a young beautiful ex cheerleader who is living on her own and running a fitness center. I read through about 2/3 of the book and got tired of her constant primping and vanity.

Sins of the Night-Sherrilyn Kenyon0

This series of Dark-Hunter books are the only books that I will immediately buy when they come out. Most other books I am patient enough to find at a used book store or trade. I have loved this series so far and all the books have been a keeper for me. This one is no exception, however I admit it is probably not going to be one of my favorites in the series.

The Good, The Bad, and the Undead, Harrison1

Kim Harrison, A Fistful of Charms

I just finished Kim Harrison’s - The Good, the Bad and the Undead. Following Dead Witch Walking, this is the second of the series.

I have read Dead Witch Walking some time last year and unfortunately I don’t remember too much about it, but it is in my personal collection and will re-read it again. Sadly, this book is on loan to my via a www.bookcrossing.com Book Ring, so I have to give it up and send to the next person on the ring. I will add this to my wishlist so that I can someday get my own copy.

Paper Back Swap Website0

I just signed up for www.paperbackswap.com as a new source to trade books. This site appears to be very organized, with tons of cool features to find books. At this time it is also free. How cool is that?

Basically you sign up, list 9 books and you will then get a 3 book “credit” that you can immediately use. What I found useful was the “wish list” feature. I searched the wish lists and found 3 matches with books I had here already. I am pretty busy and didn’t want to list all my books, so this way I now have my initial 3 book credit, plus I will get 3 more credits as soon as the books I ship out are received.
